RAR files are compressed files similar to zip files. To uncompress them -
get them back to "normal"- you need a compressing program that can do
so...there are many, including WinRar.

RAR files are a type of compressed file, similar to ZIP. Look for the
"super compression" utility such as 7zip, which can normally open /
work with most compressed file types.
