i recently changed my motherboard. All seems to be fine
except that at random intervals, the system restarts for
no apparent reason. Any ideas? I just switched both my
HD's to SATA if that helps.

Thanks in advance..

Hi Mike,

Start/run eventvwr.msc

See what the system and application logs tell you about the reboots. WinXP
is set to autorestart on a system failure, this is to prevent damage to the
machine. You can disable this default from the control panel/system/advanced
tab/startup and recovery settings. Doing so should produce a blue screen or
stop error next time it happens rather than a reboot. We can research the
error message once we know what it is.

A question, when you upgraded the motherboard and switched to the sata
drives, did you at least do a repair installation of the existing WinXP
installation?
