Random Reshuffle of Desktop Icons

Windows 2000 will, at random times, rearrange the all the
icons on my desktop even though I have "locked the desktop
items". I would like to place the icons in specific areas
of the desktop and have them stay there. Any ideas how to
really "lock" the icons in place or turn off Windows 2000
ability to rearrange them on a random basis? Thanks....

Are you on a network? or is this a stand-alone PC?
