Random Rebooting

I am running Windows XP Prof. 5.1 Service Pack 2

When I leave my computer on and unattended for more than say 15 to 30
minutes, it will reboot itself. I run Norton (among others)
antivirus/antispyware software, and when I check the active processes I do
not see anything that should not be there. It is both annoying and worrying.

I have a cable modem, but it reboots even if the modem is unplugged so I
dont think its a hack, but I would like some input from someone who either
has had this problem or knows what is causing it.

While I am working it does not occur, only when the computer is left alone.

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it.

Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

That should put an end to the spontaneous reboots. However they may
be replaced by "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error messages. In that
event the contents of the STOP error message will be a direct clue as
to the underlying cause of the problem.

Post the STOP error message contents, including the STOP code and all
four parameters, back here if you need further assistance with this.

Good luck
