All,

I have recently started experianceing a random "Network Cable Unplugged"
notice appearing, it cycles thru being connecte dnad unconnected and
eventually resolves itself out...

I have heard this is a 'bug' in XP... is this the case and is there a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Usually, this may be a sign that your network Ethernet cable is loose or
bad. I have several XP SP2 installs and have yet to see this as a "bug" in
XP. Only see this when the cable is flaky!

You haven't given us enough information to get specific advice, such as:

1. How do you connect to the Internet? Cable/dsl, dialup? Router or
directly? Ethernet or usb?
2. Which version of XP and what Service Pack level?
3. What network hardware are you using?
4. What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?
5. What troubleshooting have you already done?

In the meantime, update the drivers for whatever device you use to get
to the Internet - modem or nic. Get the drivers from the device mftr.'s
website or the OEM's website (HP, eMachines, Sony) and not from Windows
Update.

I reinstalled windows (for other reason than that) and still once in while
get this error.
Doesn't bother me.
