random email return address

I have set up two email accounts in Outlook using the same "To:" address and
incoming POP3 server but with different SMTP outgoing servers. The reason is
that I am sometimes connected via a diffrent ISP. The ISP I normally use then
requires mail to be sent over the "other" ISP SMTP server. So in Outlook I
have the two accounts; (e-mail address removed) and (e-mail address removed)
(1). I have marked the first of these two as my standard reply address. The
issue is that when connected to my regular ISP Outlook for unknown reasons
at random sometimes pick the *alternative* reply address
(e-mail address removed) (1). When this happens the email get stuck in the
outbasket as the SMTP server specified does not belong to the ISP! Any idea
why this happens and how to circumvent the problem?

The default only counts for newly created emails. For replies/forwards
Outlook will use the account you've received it with. You can choose the
account to send the item with by pressing the Accounts button near the Send
button.

Thank you, what I decribed happens with mail received through my regular ISP,
let's here here refer to as ISP #1. I am aware of the little button that
allows to change the reply address OL uses. I use it when I respond to email
and is logged onto ISP #2.
So the chain of actions are: I receive an email when logged on ISP #1 and
when I reply to the the email just received OL *at random* sometimes chose to
use the return address for ISP #2! When I open the reply (that is now stuck
in the outbox) and click on the button I can see that OL has marked the
return address for ISP #2. I can then manually change back to ISP #1 return
address and click Send and the email will send fine.

Please also note that the POP3 account and receive email address is
identical for both accounts, it is only the SMTP server name that differs.

Lacking better explanations I would call this a bug in OL...
