When I go into Control Panel, System, Advanced tab, User Profiles...it states
the "size" of my profile is 565MB. I use a Dell Dimension 8300 with WinXP
Home SP3 and 2Gigs of RAM. Why this discrepency? I thought maybe it was
referring to the amount of hard disk space I am using, but I'm well over 25
Gigs of HD. This isn't adversely effecting my system, but I'm just
curious(?). I've looked through HELP, the entire MS web site and even googled
it with no luck. Can anyone help explain this to me? I'd really appreciate
it. I'm a novice.

Thanks in advance....

its not ram that the
size is referring to
but the disk space.

basically, out of your
25 gigs or so, 565 megs
is allocated to your
profile.

however, it seems
a lot to me for a
profile.

There is no discrepancy. The figure you see refers to the amount of disk
space you use in your profile folder. It has nothing to do with the RAM
installed on your PC. There is no need to worry!

You have provided no discrepency. ;-)

And you have provided a waste of ether and time, not to mention seeming
a little strange. If you had a question, you should ask it. If you had
nothing to say, then that's exactly what you should have said.

I answered the query.

They asked, "Why this discrepency?" and I informed them they have no
discrepency.

If they wish to ask further questions, that is fine.

I had no questions, I understood what they asked and I answered it.

I had something to say (gave the answer) and I said it. At the time (and
now) I felt (feel) no need to expand on said answer.

And now you are policing this newsgroup?
