Radio Tuner in Media Player

W

Warren

It seems of late that I can click on a New Age station in the radio tuner of
Media Player and I get only one or two songs in the New Age genre before it
starts playing rock music. I am using the latest Media Player (v. 9). Has
anyone else noted this problem? Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Warren, the kind of music an Internet radio station plays is entirely up to
the radio station, not Microsoft's Windows Media Player. Media Player has
absolutely NOTHING to do with the type of music the radio station plays.
All the Media Player does is connect over the Internet with the radio
station, then play the radio station's stream, which originates at the radio
station.

If your New Age radio station is playing Rock 'N Roll, perhaps you should
complain to the Radio Station. Complaining in a Windows XP newsgroup about
the type of music a station plays is a total waste of your time and ours.

Think of it like this: Do you complain about your radio (the one on the
shelf in your house) when a New Age radio station starts playing Rock 'n
Roll? Of course not. You just change the station. Windows Media Player is
just a "radio". If you don't like the music one station plays, you don't
repair or change the "radio", you change the station.

Donald,

Sorry I "wasted your time" trying to understand why this new problem
developed. Thanks for your helpful response.

Donald,

If I were to purchase a new radio and all the stations on it were to play
the "wrong" type of music from what they advertise, I would still pursue as
to whether anyone else who purchased the same radio had experienced a
similar problem. I resent your implication that I have not used my
"noggin." Perhaps if you used your own you would realize that such
innuendos have no place on this board rather than flaming an honest user who
was looking for suggestions.

What suggestion do you want? As anyone with a lick of sense knows, Windows
Media Player has absolutely nothing to do with the type of music streamed by
an Internet Radio Station. (nor does the manufacturer of a radio have
anything to do with the type of music played by a Radio station).

Grow up, and find some common sense..

By the way, why in the world would you even think that the media player you
use has anything to do with the type of music an Internet Radio Station
streams? Or why would you even think that the radio you plugged into the
wall and turned on and tuned to a station had anything to do with the type
of music the radio station broadcasts?

Donald,

Sorry if a previous post of mine was sent to your e-mail box by mistake. My
wife was talking with me when I was attempting to respond. Sometimes
multitasking can cause memory crashes such as this, particularly for those
for whom age is advancing far too rapidly. It is obvious to me that our
thread has degraded to a point of negativity. I have understood from the
outset that Media Player only plays the feeds it receives from stations. I
was just wanting to see if anyone else had noted the inappropriate feeds for
the genre chosen. You asked me to "grow up and get some common sense."
Sorry you feel the need to degrade me in such a fashion. I shall not
respond in kind as that is not my manner. I, would, however, like to wish
you a nice day.
