Radeon X550 and 22" monitor?

I'm thinking up upgrading from a 19" LCD to a 22" but even after
considerable searching on Google, etc., I can't establish whether my Radeon
X550 will support the 1680X1050 resolution.

On the brochure for the video card, it does not list that resolution as
being supported, but I'm not sure that resolution even existed when I
purchased the card.

Any assistance would be very appreciated.

I bought a 20" display with the same resolution last week and my
semi-ancient 9600XT supports it. Of course that doesn't guarantee that
your newer card will to but it seems to suggest that it will.

It's the monitor drivers that provide support the resolution. The card will
do it, but 1680x1050 likely won't be listed by the card manufacturer as a
standard res.

Why? 1680x1050 has been around for quite some time. The X series has no
problem supporting it.
