Qustion on upgrading office suite

Craig

Currently I am using MS 97 Office Suite. Now I am thinking to buy Office
2003 Upgrade version.
My question is whether I should uninstall MS 97 Office Suite prior to
installing office 2003 Upgrade.
TIA. Craig

You didn't specify which edition of Office 97 you own. The following
editions are the qualifying products:
Microsoft Office 97
Office 97 Professional, Office 97 Small Business Edition (version 2), Office
97 Small Business Edition (version 1), Office 97 Standard

I don't think it really matters which you do. I'd probably just upgrade and
let Office do it's thing.

Hi,

I got the upgrade today and installed today without removing the existing
97Office Suite.
Everything went smoothly.

My question is about how to install Office 2003 when I reformat harddrive
after bad crashes.
Should I install Office 97 and then instal 2003Upgrade?
This process takes a long time to complete.
It would be nice if 2003 upgrade allows me to skip installing Office 97.
Please let me know.

My understanding is that you would just start the install with the 2003
upgrade. When it asks about the qualifying version, insert the 97 disc and
browse to it.
