Howdy,

I want to view downloaded video clips using a viewer called
VLC. For most formats, all is well.

When I attempt to DL an MPG clip, QuickTime launches in an
Internet Explorer window.

In Windows Explorer | File Types, I have MPG files set to
open with the VLC viewer, and so, I assumed that if I
disabled the QuickTime Add-On, all would be well.

But after doing that, I discovered that the new IE window
still opened, but with a message telling me that an Add-On
that I wanted to use had been disabled.

I cannot remove QuickTime because I-Tunes needs it, and I
use I-Tunes for some other purposes.

How can I tell Internet Explorer to launch VLC when I DL an
MPG file...?

Sincere thanks for any help on this,

Howdy,

The link you offered points to ten articles...

I checked 'em all.

Was there one there that you actually thought would help?

If so, can you tell me which one it was, and I will
certainly check it again.

Sincere thanks,
