quicktime and itunes won't open

after trying to uninstall quicktime 7, i have been unable to reinstall it or
open itunes. when i initially uninstalled quicktime, i noticed that the
icons were still present in my program list, so i went into windows explorer
and tried to delete the program folder. it would not allow me to delete the
folder, even though i had already technically uninstalled the program, and
now i am unable to reinstall quicktime or open itunes. the same error report
prompt comes up and asks me if i want to send it or not. is there anyone
that can help?

Seems it didn't all uninstall. Go to Start/Run and type msconfig and click
OK
On the screen that opens select the Startup tab. Go down that list and
uncheck anything to do with Quicktime or iTunes. Reboot.

Search for and get a free app called EndItAll. Run it and choose to Kill All
Processes (it won't kill the necessary ones to keep Windows running). Now
you should be able to delete the program folder. Reboot.

If that doesn't work post back in this thread.

Quicktime is just junk that is best left on Apple Macs running that OSX
crud. Most site now-a-days offer Windows Media Player files and links as
well anyway so you don't have to bother with it.

Furthermore, if a body just wants to install QuickTime, tough, Apple is now
forcing iTunes with the install. Annoying for the person installing and
discourteous to the customer. Don't bother with it nor the iTunes spyware
that comes with it:
