quick time & XP default problem

I can't have quicktime and XP default at same time? When I have to use qt on
a website to run a video it works however some sites won't run qt and if it
is installed my default won't run. Its a bit of a pain haveing to install,
watch video then uninstall for these videos.
I know on pics I can choose "open with" but is there an option I am
missing for videos?
