Quick Time Player

I have just installed Quick Time player on a Vista Premium OS computer.
Windows Media player now does not play music files when I open them. Is this
problem due to installation of QT and how can I correct the situation?
My PC is a Dell Dimension 9200 with core duo processor and 4 GBSDRAM

Try going to Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Default Programs
Highlight Windows Media Player and click Set this program as default
Then double click on your music file and see if it opens in MWP
