quick launch

My quick Launch toolbar's icons used to show their title by moving the
pointer over them.

Now nothing, how do I get that nice feature back?

I use XP with Serv p 2.

Can you see the tooltips on Desktop Icons ? If no then :

Yes, the icon titles remain undrneath the icons, viewable all the time.
Nothing appears when I put mouse over quick launch icons.

Quick fix for this "Z-order" problem is, Click Start, All Programs,
Right click on any entry, left click "Sort by Name".

Yes, the icon titles remain undrneath the icons, viewable all the time.
Nothing appears when I put mouse over quick launch icons.

not sure what this has to do with vanishing titles though.....

Quick fix for this "Z-order" problem is, Click Start, All Programs, Right
click on any entry, left click "Sort by Name".

You are talking about "Tool Tips". They didn't "vanish". Because of a
"Z-order" problem they aren't appearing in front of the Taskbar, but
behind it so you don't see them. The "quick fix" restores the "Z-order".

You're welcome, nothing strange, simply cause and effect, the forced
"sort" just puts the tool tips back to the top so they can be seen
again. Some where along the line some program got assigned above them
and so they "disappeared", you can observe this easier if you pull the
Taskbar up along the right side of the screen, when the "z-order" gets
scrambled, the Tool tips will "peak" out from behind the taskbar and you
will see the left end of the longer ones. Have a good day.
