Quick Launch

Well, I messed that up. Now I have a bar three lines high instead of one?
After re-installing XP Home, my quick launch bar will only hold three
icons and the double arrows. Ho do I configure to allow more icons?

You simply drag the divider after the three icons and the double arrows to
the right to enlarge the Quick Launch Bar.

If the task bar is locked, you'll have to right click on it first and
uncheck "Lock task bar."

By the way, note that the Quick Launch Bar isn't actually part of the Task
Bar, but is a separate toolbar. It doesn't even have to be on the Task Bar,
and you can drag it off and put it, for example, by itself on the top or
left of
the screen. I particularly like it on the side, because it takes up little
screen real estate there, and provides room for lots of shortcuts while
still leaving room on the task bar for running programs.

Why don't you stay on same thread?

If you unlock taskbar, can't you drag it down to its original size?
Try it.
