See if this article applies:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240133/en-us

As for WinXP, the path "C:\Windows\Profiles\[profile name]\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\..." should read
%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

cheers man, is there a way that i can set that to a REG file to run
on many PC's; about 30 of them?

Well, if the referred MSKB article applies, see the cause (excerpt):

| CAUSE
|
| This behavior can occur if the Quick Launch folder has been deleted.

You cannot re-create that folder via REG file. However, you can create
that folder via script - provided that this MSKB article applies.

ok man, i reckon i will leave it then because i have no idea what MSKB
is?

im trying to get it so i can run it on 30 PC's then it work?

any scripters fancy helping me?

"MSKB article" stands for "Microsoft Knowledgebase article".

Try here:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.scripting.wsh

Good luck.

Who removed the folder? It is there by XP default. Either way:

For a stand alone exe to be run as a startup script, send me a private
email. When this utility is run as a "Startup script", it will
automatically adjust the system Registry to "turn on" the Quick Launch bar,
by default, for all newly created user accounts.
