Quick Launch/Taskbar

I am using Windows XP Home edition. When I boot up, the
Quick Launch icons do not appear in the taskbar. So I
click on "Toolbars, then "Quick Launch" and they appear.
I then lock the taskbar. Everything is fine, then when I
reboot the system, the Quick Launch does not appear. I
have gone through this process a dozen times, but each
time I reboot, the Quick Lauch is gone from the taskbar
and I have to go back and make it reappear. How do I
resolve, thank you

I have seen that recommended a lot. Doesn't work if your
administrator has disabled regedit (and just donesn't
care - if you don't like things the way he likes them,
tough).

Is this just ANOTHER flaw of XP? or is there a way a
regular person can solve it?

Great tool, thank you! Unfortunately, I tried a
few "repair" options, and it did not work....

I am having the same issue with XP Pro. I have narrowed
the problem down to a corrupt Default User profile, and
subsequently any account created once the corruption
occurs are also corrupt. Try recreating the default
profile and then your user account. Copy the
administrator profile and go from there. Does the problem
happen when you log in as administrator?
A more structured process would be preferred, but for 1
computer being affected not an issue. I have 40 and would
like a different avenue for resolution.
But as mentioned below it could just be a flaw and a
structured approach non-existant.

Bandit.

try keeping the quick launch bar unlocked and then
dragging it to another location on the screen (top or side).
Then restart and see if you have the bar at the place you
dragged it to.
