Quick Launch Problem

Is the quick launch, the area on the start bar just to the left of the start
button limited to three icons?

Problem: I currently have three startup icons in the quick launch location
and would like to have four. Each time I drag a fourth icon into that
location it causes one of the three icons to be relocated in the hidden area
just to the right. If I drag on the double greater than icon ">>" the icon
that was just removed is there. I have checked the "XP" help and cannot
find anything. I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

It's to the RIGHT of the start button on most systems.

No, it's not limited, mine has 8 buttons. "Unlock" the task bar (right
click), then "drag" the right-edge of the quick launch menu to expose as
many buttons as you wish.

Something permanent; right click on start, click properties, click taskbar at
the top, and finally, uncheck 'lock taskbar'. Let me know if that helped.

Something permanent if you want. Right click start, click properties, click
taskbar, uncheck 'lock taskbar'. You can change it back to lock anytime.

Hi,

Yes, it is called the Quick Launch area. Unlock the Taskbar, drag the
separator over, then relock the taskbar.
