Quick Launch goes away after reboot

Every time I reboot my Show Quick Launch in Taskk Bar and Start Menu
Properties is unchecked. I have to go back and recheck the box and set up my
quick laundh everytime I reboot. This just started.
Does someone know how I can fix this?

Thanks

It sounds like either a software conflict (did you install anything recently
that could have caused it), an issue with explorer (which is probably easiest
to be remidied with a sfc.exe -scannow in command window), or an issue with
your user profile. I would recommend checking for software conflicts first,
and if none found try creating a new user profile and see if it occurs there.
If not then switch your data to the new user profile and call it good. If not
I would recommend backing up data and running an sfc.exe-scannow from command
window, or just reinstalling Windows. (depending on if it matters that much
to you).

If you have further questions/information I will be monitoring this ticket.

Thanks for the reply Tim,

I tried the sfc.exe -scannow and it found problems but it asked me to insert
the Windows XP Pro Disk 2 CD. I am using Windows Media Center and do not have
the Pro CD's. It would not take my Media Center CD.
Could try creating a new user profile but don't know how to move data over
to the new user.
Have also noticed on re-boot that any icons I have moved around on the
desktop go back to where they were when I re-boot.
Anymore help would be appreciated.

Also have noticed that this all seemed to start when Onecare recently did an
update. Had a heck of a time getting it corrected and running again.

Just created a user profile to see if Quick Launch would work after a reboot.
It did not. I may have to reinstall the system if I want this fixed...

If it all started with live one care, have you tried uninstalling it? Two
possibilities I can see:

1. Live onecare is running some optimization software that is changing your
settings, attempt to reconfigure it if possible. (though I dont remember this
happening to me but I was on vista)
2. Something is causing a system issue and you have windows restore on. It
may be restoring you to a previous version of your user profile that did not
have the quick bar on.

As for the sfc.exe -scannow issue, I have never heard of it not accepting
the CD's before. If this was a store purchased PC you would want to put in
the OS restore CD, not the applications.
