Quick Launch Backup

Hi all -

Does anyone know if the Quick Launch (QL) toolbar can be backed up somehow?
In particular, can it be backed up independently from the rest of Windows?

The idea here is to be able to restore the Quick Launch set of icons after a
clean install or to be able to restore a different QL icon set that is
specific to a specific task.

The 'MS Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard' saves toolbars, settings, and
such so the 'look' of a user's Office environment can be easily restored; it
would be great if there was a similar way to save the Quick Launch toolbar.
Even a manual way would be fine, but I don't know where the icon set is
stored or whether it is stored independently of other settings.

Thanks in advance,
Jay

Right click on the Quick Launch toolbar and select Open Folder from the menu.
The folder that's displayed is the one you want to back up.

Keep in mind that each you'll need to back up the corresponding folder for each
of the users on your computer. Also, the location where each of the shortcuts in
your current Quick Launch toolbar points to would have to be the same on the new
installation.

Good luck

Hello,

What I am looking for is a way to back up the entire configuration. I
use 4 folders in my quicklaunch, and I keep them in a folder called
launch bars, (which is easily transported to a new pc setup). I want
to know where the quicklaunch config is saved. In the registry? I am
tired of setting up each folder with the views and all. Would be nice
to hit one button, and my whole setup is there. Do you dig?
