Questions re: Adding Distribution Lists to My Contacts Outlook 07

Hello All,

Does anyone know how to add an Outlook 2007 distribution list to My Contacts
in the Contacts folder? I know that distribution lists default to the
Contacts folder when saved, but a student of mine somehow created a couple
of distribution lists and they appeared under My Contacts. However, not all
the lists she created did so. They were only accessible, as usual, through
Contacts. So we'd like to know what she did so we can replicate the process.
Also, it would be helpful to know how to move a distribution list from
Contacts to My Contacts after it's created. It's not a huge problem, but
it's something of a puzzle we'd like solve. Many thanks in advance to all
for any suggestions and solutions.

Best regards,

Bart

Clarify what you mean by "My Contacts." The "My Contacts" view in the Nav
pane can only display Folders, not individual Contact Items.

I agree with you and understand what you mean, but somehow my student
created two distribution lists whose names now appear in the My Contacts
view. I'd never seen this before, having only ever seen folders in My
Contacts. This is why I'm stymied. Maybe a fluke?

Many thanks for your response!

Also, did you use Folder List view to see what was actually created?

Apparently my student had created two distribution lists with certain names
and then inadvertently created folders with the same names, though she
vehemently claimed not to have done so. Further investigation and
backtracking with her through the process proved that was not the case. So
your earlier suggestion regarding folders hit pay dirt. The whole issue
might have skirted being a false alarm, but your mail set tings right. Many
thanks again.
