I downloaded Movie Maker 2. I can open the program and
open pictures. However, When trying to edit or add
effects, the program closes. Any ideas?

This also happend to me. I reinstalled Windows Media
Player 9 and it seemed to fix the problem which I assume
was a codec issue.
