to disable that drop down list you have to a new browser
window(IE) and go to tools, internet options. Then
select the content tab and at the bottom there will be a
button called auto complete. Select that and uncheck
forms. That will eliminate that drop down box.

how would i eliminate the drop down box for the "search"
engine that i find in the start menu?
