Question on windows xp

I am using windows XP home editon. I just intsalled msn 9. After I
check my email on msn 9 my computer will not go into hibernate mode
(all open programs are closed to try and get it to hibernate). I have
reset all the taps for hibernate. If I don't use msn 9 then it will go
into hibernate mode. I can use msn 9 and it will go into hibernate, it
is only with it sends and receives email in msn 9 that it will not
hibernate. Computer is a hp pavilion ze4200 laptop. Thanks for any

This is a shot in the dark, but I would guess there is some spyware
sneaking in.
