Question on Windows PE (Preinstallation Environment)

Hi

Does anyone know whether we can use SERIAL COM in WIN PE? Because when I try to run a serial COM program on WIN PE, there is error on it. So I try to check whether there is any serial com driver. Therefore I went to Register editor and choose HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/SERIAL COMM and there is only one thing called (DEFAULT) with DATA (Value not set). Serial Com is actually a very basic function in WIndows, so I wonder whether I have any ways which I can use it in WIN PE
Thank you !

Also, someone recently mentioned that you can licence WinPE from MS to make
some customizations. You will need to find the message in the google archive
yourself.

You may try to install this INFs at WinPE runtime
http://www.geocities.com/ptngoc2612/com_lpt_ports.zip to get basic COM ports
working. In any case, reading these INFs will give you an idea what you need
in the registry to have the support.
