Question on MMC 9.13 and Scheduling Programs for Recording

Currently running MMC 9.06, and don't want to upgrade to MMC
9.13 until the TV ON DEMAND issue is resolved (when it
doesn't always record to hard drive).

However, I use MMC mostly for recording programs. So, with
MMC 9.13, when you start Guide+, it displays TV in the
upper-left corner. Does this get recorded to the hard
drive, a la TV-ON-DEMAND?

In other words, every time I want to review programs and set
up future recordings using Guide+, if you have MMC 9.13,
does the video preview your seeing get recorded to the hard
drive? If so, am definitely not going to update to 9.13.
Thanks for any help/advice.

I'm using MMC 9.06.1 with Guide+. When I record directly or schedule a
program thought Guide+, recording starts immediately with *mpg reformat for
me. Not TV-ON-DEMAND.

Thanks for the response. But was only concerned with MMC
9.13. This is the one that, when you start the TV program,
or any app that uses the TV program, it automatically and
always records to the hard drive.

You must then manually delete the files on the hard drive,
once you can find them.

My question was related to Guide+ and MMC 9.13 with it's
ALWAYS-ON TV-ON-DEMAND. Because when you start Guide+ (at
least with my MMC version 9.03), it starts the TV program in
the background.

So, my questions is this: If I start Guide+ with MMC 9.13,
because I want to schedule some recordings, does the TV
program start in the background, and start recording to the
hard drive with it's ALWAYS ON, TV-ON-DEMAND?

Even if I only start Guide+ for a few minutes to schedule
programs, will I have "a few minutes of video" recorded to
the hard drive that I must manually delete?

I don't want my hard drive to fill-up, because of MMC 9.13's
always on, TV-ON-DEMAND.

Thanks for any help/advice.

Guide+ does NOT work with ATI MMC 9.13 well, therefore, you can not schedule
recordings. Because the TV-ON-DEMAND is always running.

ATI needs to fix the TV-ON-DEMAND from automatically starting up in MMC
9.13.

Use verison MMC 9.06.1 instead of MMC 9.13, and your problem will be fixed.

Thanks for the advice. This was exactly the answer I was
looking for. I'll try upgrading my MMC 9.03 to 9.06, and
see if it makes any difference.

The biggest problem I'm having now, is that SCHEDULED
program "sometimes" never record. Even though the ATI
Scheduler is running in the background, when it comes time
to record, nothing happens and I've lost the recording.
This happens about 50% of the time. So when I come home
from work and open my LIBRARY, I never know if my program
got recorded or not.

I have tons of disk space, and 2 Gigs of RAM on a P3-3GHz
machine, so I don't think it's a resource issue. If anyone
knows why sometimes the SCHEDULER doesn't work, please post
your experience and recommendation. Thank you.

If you ever get an answer, please let me know. I have EXACTLY the same
problem.

Plus one other: If the scheduler is set to record something off the
S-Video input (in other words, from the cable box), it frequently fails
to switch over from the main TV tuner, and merely records whatever
channel it's tuned to instead.

Fixing these two problems is what ATI should focus on in their MMC
upgrades, not saddling us with Video-on-Demand that we can't switch off.
