KB885887 updates the kerberos.dll to version 5.1.2600.2565

I need definative confirmation if the fix in KB885887 is rolled up into the
kerberos.dll version 5.1.2600.2698 distributed in Microsoft Security Bulletin
MS05-042

From 885887:

17-Nov-2004 Kerberos.dll v5.1.2600.2565

From MS05-042:

15-Jun-2005 Kerberos.dll v5.1.2600.2698

The latter is a newer and higher version. What do you think?

You might be better off using the kerberos.dll from

When in doubt, assume nothing.

KB885887 states the following

Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix is not replaced by any later hotfix.

One would hope that it is included in newer versions of the .dll

Is there a microsoft support rep that could confirm this?

Ain't no one from Microsoft here. This is a peer-to-peer support newsgroup.

There are thousands of KB articles that aren't kept up-to-date.

MS05-042 supersedes 885887. In fact, if MS05-042 is installed, attempting
to install 885886 wouldn't change the version of Kerberos.dll. And if you
contacted MS for the hotfix, they'd tell you to install MS05-042 if it isn't
already installed.
