I'm running 3 Windows XP Pro systems on a LAN which is connected to a high
speed cable modem. All computers use 10/100 network cards.

Would there be any performance benefits (speed) in replacing one or more of
these NIC cards with 10/100/1000 cards?

TIA

Jim

What is the speed of your service. 10 = 10mbps; 100 = 100mbps and 1,000 =
1,000mbps or 1gbps

Do you have gigabit service?

1No, I have Comcast which runs about 10.

Hi
Switching to Giga cards would not make any difference as far as Internet
Spted is concerned.
If you use a Giga Switch with Giga cards, local file transfer between
computers would be faster.
