Question - Microsoft Hotfixes

Are hotfix updates cumulative?

For example; If Microsoft Article 818528 mentions that there is a hotfix available to update these files

Date Time Version Size File name
-----------------------------------------------------
04-Jun-2003 17:18 5.0.2195.6752 407,792 Mrxsmb.sys
04-Jun-2003 17:18 5.0.2195.6752 168,496 Rdbss.sys

Then another Microsoft Article (321936) mentions that there are updates to the same files

Date Time Version Size File name
--------------------------------------------------------------
09-Apr-2004 18:05 5.0.2195.6923 408,752 Mrxsmb.sys
09-Apr-2004 18:05 5.0.2195.6923 169,936 Rdbss.sys

Would the hotfix in article 321936 fix both issues? Or you screwed in deciding which one to go with?

Thanks!

Hi

As long as the latest update covers all the files in a previous update,
and all the files has a higher version numbers, then it will fix both
issues. So for your example, 321936 includes and supersedes 818528.
