Buy a computer with XP on it. Vista isn't going anywhere because soon it
will be out of "sight" ;-)

You may be able to run PSP 8 in compatibility mode on Vista.

You can do both of those if your parents permit you. You can get most
programs to work with a bit of effort, but sometimes it requires knowing a
bit about the OS eg the difference between running programs elevated /
non-elevated etc. So I'd recommend you pick up a decent book on Vista at the
same time.

Not quite a direct answer to your question but...

Be VERY careful what you download from the internet... some stuff is
free but a lot of "Free" stuff is not legitimate and can be dangerous to
the computer.

You are more likely to find more stuff that works on XP than on Vista at
the moment, this is normal with any new operating system.

PSP is more likely to run in a stable manner on XP - but check out their
website to see what they and others have to say.

If you buy from a normal store the machine you get is likely to have all
manner of junk on it already installed, some from the manufacturer and
some from the store. Post back here, tell people what is installed and
get advice.

Hi Tam,

All the advice given here is sound advice and as far as PSP version 8 goes I
am running it on Vista Business without any hassle. I didn't need to setup
compatibility mode, just installed it and it works fine.
