Since my grandson showed up today, I had to make a few changes, and thanks
to you nice folks here I got all the answers. I still have to apply the
answers, and I have a few questions. I set up 2 new users, then again with
your help, found out how they each have to log on with a password, and all
went swell. Then I tried to see where the accounts are on my tree on the
left side of IE. I only saw one name listed, that of my grandson. It
happened the one that I logged in as. I could not find my daughters name
listed. I could not find mine either. It said owner, (Iguess that is me)and
then I had an all user. Why did my daughter's name not show up. Is she the
default user? I had that as well in the tree. Here is why I'm asking. I
looked at the icons on my grandson's desktop, when I logged on with his
password, and I wanted to delete some of the icons, but could not, because I
left the account with restricted access. Just the way I liked it. So when I
went into IE to look on the tree, and to go to his desktop to delete the
icons from there, the desktop under his name had no icons in it. How can
that be. So I'm sitting here baffled, as to what I can do. One other
question, when I delete a icon from the all users, will that mean what I
think it means? that icon will be gone from all the places. I hope I make a
little sense, English is not my mother tongue, and I'm try my
best...............Peter

Peter, look in C:\Documents and Settings>Grandson's Name. Open the Folder
and look for Desktop. Open and you will
see the Icons. You can delete from there.

Not sure I completely understand, but I think that the user profiles
do not get completed until someone logs in to that user account
Try logging in as one of the others you don't see a folder for and
see if that makes it show up.

Yes, you are correct Mikey, the user profile doesn't actually get
created until that user logs in.

Thanks for this help, you guys are right, once I logged on as my daughter,
she showed up in the tree as well. So that is taken care of. I still don't
see any icons on her or my grandson's desktop, the explore tree desktop I
mean. There must be some way to get them. All the icons that showed up on
the real desktop, when I log into her or his settings, are all icons they
don't need. I wonder how they got picked anyway. So maybe there is an answer
out there still for me. I appreciate this help very very much. Maybe I need
to actually copy and paste the icons from my tree desktop to their tree
desktop, and then I can delete it again. It is a puzzle..........Peter

Just a quick observation, all the icons that are on my daughter's and
grandson's real desktop , are on the tree desktop of "all users". Strange,
but none show up on the tree icon of their individual tree desktop, and
stranger still, they don't show up on my own tree desktop either, but hey
are on my real desktop..............Peter

That's normal, anything in All Users\Desktop will be present for all
users, but depending on individual user desktop settings they may be
hidden. What you need to do might be in each account right click on the
desktop and under Arrange icons select Show Desktop Icons.
