Question about reformatting PC

Hello, I am trying to reformat my PC and I know how to change the boot
sequence and so forth. I am needing to delete Drive C current partition and
create a new one. However, I am getting this error "Setup is unable to
perform the requested operation on the selected partition. This partition
contains temporary setup files that are required to complete this install."

How can I fix this?

To reformat the XP PC, you MUST boot off the XP install CD. XP will not
allow you the change the partition.reformat the C:, since that is where XP
is loaded from. By booting off the XP install CD, you have by-passed this
problem. Also, during the install, you are able to delete and re-define the
C: partition.
