Question About Ram

My system has 1X 256MB PC100 Single Sided and
1X 256MB PC100 Double Sided.

Question : Would this arrangement screw up my system ?
Cause I can't seem to play many games without the system locking up on me.

Possibly.. XP is very fussy about the exact matching of RAM modules
