Question about folder headings/columns.

Is there any way to recursively set the folder heading columns for multiple
folders? I have hundreds of folders in my music folder and would like to have
all the columns the same. That way if my columns are Name, Album, Artist,
Genre, Year ... at the top level, I would like all folders contained in my
Music Folder to have the same columns without having to set each folder
individually. This would save me a lot of time and make me much happier with
Vista.

Have you tried Folder Option's "Apply to Folders" button? Try that and see
if it works?

Open the top folder. Set it as you like it. Hit the 'alt' button to see the
menubar if you don't already:

Tools > Folder Options... > Views tab > hit the "Apply to Folders" button

It works here.

Thanks. That kind of works. It does set the view the same for all of that
type of folder but doesn't do a recursive setting. So if I want other folders
of the same type to have a different view I have to change it one at a time.

There are both MusicIcon and MusicDetails type folders. Perhaps you set the
default for one but not the other. It should be global for that type once
it is set.
