Question about fbreseal

Hi all,

I have two question about fbreseal.exe

1) I build XPe image and execute FBA and change some
configuration on target device. Finally I execute
fbreseal.exe. On next boot, there are two case about boot
appearance.
1st case: I can see the message "preparing windows
starting..." on boot screen.
2nd case: I can not see above message at all. I can see
desktop back ground color for a time.

2) I have experienced that fbreseal.exe is removed from
disk after executing fbreseal.exe. This phenomenon does
not happen at every time.

Have you ever experienced above phenomenon like me.

If you have some advice, please tell me.

Yasutaka,

Sorry, I could not get your first question quite clear. Did you mean that on
next boot after fbreseal you see "preparing windows starting..." screen and
then (one more reboot) the boot comes to normal meaning you see desktop?
If so, that is how XPe reseal/cloning works. The cloning phase automatically
begins the first time the image boots after the reseal phase. During the
cloning phase, you see a message in the Windows XP boot monitor stating that
Windows is starting. This message notifies you that the cloning process is
working. For more info, read this
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/xpehelp/html/xeconCloning.asp.

If you set system cloning tools to a reseal phase of 12000 (default) it
deletes it for you after a reseal. This is expected behaviour (not leaving
fbreseal to end user) and has been commented by MS here:

(you may find more posts on the subject).

Hope this helps,
KM
