question about domain registration

Hi- I appologize if in the wrong group.
I want to know if any of you have experienced any drawbacks to registrating
a new domain name when: (1) you did NOT get it registered to YOU & (2) you
did not make it a PRIVATE registration.
I have been reading about this stuff a bit. It appears that some places
recommend getting it private (which may cost a little bit more) so that the
addresses/personal stuff does not get 'exposed' on the web.
ANyone here can give me their ideas & experiences so as to help me make a
decision. thanks
Ps-Please dirrect me to the correct NG's if you can not answer this question

Hey.. Well dont worry if you have entered a wrong group.

I am always there to help my great friends who encounter any kind of problem.

Well, first of all I must tell you that i am having my own websites, such as:

1)http://www.tekzoneonline.com/
2) http://www.paisablaster.co.in/

I will give your answers one-by-one:

1) Not getting your site registered may give you trouble because everyday
more than 1,00,000 websites get registered and hosted on the web. So, in case
you have decided to launch a website after some time, and you are currently
designing it, better would be to get it registered under your name first.
2) See, making PRIVATE registrations is a special requirement of some
companies and organisations who want to keep their website confidential to
their employees and members only. So, if you want to make such a website or
want to keep it personal only, then there is really no problem.

HELP TIP: How much are you spending on domain registration? $10, $15 or
more...

then for domain registration/hosting please try these sites:
1) http://hosting.rediff.com/hosting/scripts/hosting.phtml
2) http://www.compitenthosting.com/nsn_whois.html

I hope I helped !!
Good-luck...
I LOVE MY INDIA !!
