Hi,
i recently ran the security check which is available at
www.symantec.co.uk security response section.

It reported "vulnerabilities" as follows
ICMP open
port 22 open
port 80 open
port 1025 open

Obviously it then suggested i needed a good firewall product ,just
like theirs or i needed to upgrade!!

I already run NIS 2003 and an external netgear WGR614 router.

Surely some of these ports need to be open ? If not,how do i at least
"stealth" them?. I would have thought NIS would have done this for me
already ?

.
You should be able to "stealth" them via your firewalls
advanced properties. I run symantec's firewall that I
purchased in 2002 and I come up as non existent
