Quantum Hard disk utilities

I have been asked by my Nephew to assist with a computer problem.

He has an old PC intel 500mhz with a quantum Hard disk.


There apparently was a power surge recently and is now getting a
mesage Boot disk not found - running win2k.
I sugested that the hard disk could have been zapped, but he says that
it can be accessed in a mates computer.

I have suggested that he get the hard disk utility to find out if the
disk is fried but he cannot find one for Quantum drives.

I have tried Google to locate a site, but the site I went wanted to
load an activex plugin so I did not proceed.

I know that quantum was merged with one of the other drive makers but
I can't remember which one.

Can anyone advise a site to obtain a download of a test utility ofor
Quantum drives

Maxtor bought the Quantum line a few years ago. Go to the Support
section at www.maxtor.com and you can download utilities and such for
Quantum hard drives.
