I downloaded this patch using win update, after it was
installed I restarted my computer. When I checked for more
updates the following day it said I still needed Q81114.
The patch is listed in my add & remove folder. Do I still
need the patch? Is anyone else having this problem?

Is Q81114 the exact article you installed? I am not sure what that fix
is...I am unable to locate it. What is the title?
Are you on a 64 bit XP machine? I am aware of an issue or 2 w/ 64 OS and
Windows Update.

Sorry about that - I just reviewed current troubleshooter
page and see WU is again pretending that it has not issues
with database corruption.
The patch you reference, for IIS (5.1 on XP Pro) should
not need a reinstall if it is installed, that is, it was not
reissued with updated binaries.
You can run always reinstall it and see if this satisfies WU,
but if not, then you may be experience the corruption issue
in the Catroot2 directory (renaming which and revisiting
WU is the most common cure).

I am having the same exact problem. I am running XP Pro with automatic update downloads. For the past several days the computer has informed me that it needs to install the Q81114 Security Update, to fix security issues in MS Internet Information Services version 5.1. I have done so repeatedly, plus I have gone to the Update page--which also suggested I needed this update--and I downloaded and installed it directly. I'm then informed that it installed correctly. Rebooting and returning to the page, it again suggests I need this update

Please advise

You may be suffering from WU database corruption.
Try renaming the system32\CatRoot2 folder, rebooting,
and visiting WU to allow it to reanalyze your system.
