Puzzling publishing behaviour

Hi guys, please help.

I created my site a while ago and have been making changes periodically. Tonight I added a new page and uploaded OK, however, when I tried to view it, the link that should have led to my new page, instead led to the local HD address, i.e. MyWebs/newPage. All other pages are fine.

Now then - I tried to overwrite all contents on the site when I was met by repeated error messages, such as "Server error - cannot open file thisfile.gif.tmp", or "thatFile.htm.tmp". What's that all about?? I then tried to publish changed pages only, but kept getting those error messages, and always different files - seems like all the files all of a sudden have a tmp extension.

Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention that my new page contains an "add to basket" button and "view Basket" button, from PayPal. And that I use FP 2000. Don't know if that could possibly have any bearing on the problem, although I cannot see why

ok.
open your local web (all the pages you're working on must be within the
confines of a FrontPage web) hit tools/ recalculate hyperlinks.
then file/ publish but before you let it fly hit the options button and
select all pages overwriting.......
try it that way and see how it is.
If it doesn't work maybe you'll have to open the server web( file/ open web/
type in your http:// address) and delete everything, then try a republish.
come back if it d/n work and post the url to your site.
