Putting the Dial Internet connection on the Desktop?

I can not recall how to place the Internet Dialer on my desktop. I
did this in Win98 years ago. I'm sure its the same in Win2K, but
how???? I just installed 2K.

Right now I have to open IE and go to google or any other site. I
really only want to use the Internet in 2K for newsgroups and maybe
email. I dont intend to get the security upgrades (or any upgrades)
for Win2k, so I'll use Win98 for all other internet stuff.

I know this is simple to do, (make a shortcut for something), but
what?

Thanks

LM

Go in the Network and Dial-up Connections:

(Click on Start >Settings >Network and Dial-Up Connections)

Right-click on the desired connection and click on "Create Shortcut".
Windows will tell you that it can't create a shortcut in the Network and
Dial-up Connections folder but it will offer to create a shortcut on the
desktop.
