Putting split files together???

Okay I have two 50mb .avi files. They end like this
..avi.001
..avi.002
I downloaded hjsplit. But I have no clue how I am supposed to put them
back together again. What is supposed to happen? Does this application
joined these two 50mb files into one big 100mb .avi file? Can some one
take me through the process because I am "Brain Dead" when it comes to
things like this.

this is similar software but does the same thing you are looking to do...put
multiple files together into one

AVI Joiner designed to join AVI files without recompression that allows you
to join AVI files quickly and without reducing quality. But only files with
identical parameters (such as frame size, frame rate, video codec) can be
joined.

The question is, where did you get the files from ? And are you sure it is
a split AVI file and not a RAR archive ?

IIRC Rar uses a different numbering scheme. Though I will admit it's
been awhile since I've had to use a split Rar file.

It does by default but I have seen a lot of RAR archives starting with
..001, .002, etc.

By default, older versions are... xxxx.rar, xxxx.r00, xxxx.r01, etc.

The later versions come up with xxxx.part1.rar, xxxx.part2.rar.

If you got these from a newsgroup(as DanS asked where they came from is
important) & they are both *exactly* the same size than more than likely
your download is no where near complete.......50mb files are a standard
size split for *very* large postings........The particular upload more
than likely was split using QuickPAR to re-join at the end of the
download. Of course if all files are complete it can also be joined with
HJSplit.

Hope this helps........
