How can i do this, or if you dont want to go into it could
u please give me a link to a good site that will have the
information i need. Thank you.

There's a site called "Linuxnewbie" - think it's either .net or .org, just
search for "linuxnewbie" and you should find it. Reasonably easy to
understand walkthroughs of how to do things like that. (And there's about 50
different ways of doing what you want...)

Safest ways I can think of, btw, would be sticking Linux on its own drive
and choosing the floppy-based boot manager. Slightly inconvenient, but it
won't touch XP's boot manager.

All the major Linux distributions have well-written specific
instructions for how to install Linux into a dual-boot machine with
Windows (or other OS). This will be in a document in the distribution
CD, or you can find them on their web site. Red Hat's instructions are
particularly good, and even if you can't find for your own distribution,
read Red Hat's to get 99% of the idea.

Also take note of the extensive documentation and "HOW-TO's" published
by the Linux Documentation Project at http://www.tldp.org/
