Push 'critical updates' from Server to Client PC's

Is this even possible?

We are running Windows Server 2000 (no longer in KB as an
option to chose from) and windows 2000/XP machines in an
AD enviroment.

We would like all updates to go to a centralized server
and be pushed to clients where we can then keep track of
who has what updates.

Any assistance is greatly appriciated.
