Purging drop-down search lists

Purging drop-down menu search lists, can someone tell me
how to do that?

Greg, the only way that I am aware of doing that is by deleting the entries
in the registry. The location is in the subfolders below this location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru
 
in the dropdown... type, say, s , then hit down arrow and
delete button.... ever time you do this, you'll erase one
legacy search starting with "s"
