Unfortunately, emptying the Junk E-mail folder and emptying the Deleted
Items folder are apparently treated differently and for the former, the
server isn't told to remove the messages. I think it's an oversight by
Microsoft. So, you could delete the contents of the Junk E-mail folder
periodically instead of emptying it, so that the items get moved to the
Deleted Items folder.
