any idea why after weeks of error free use i get an error trying to use FP sharepoint services to publish/edit my website? I have checked to make sure the services are enabled on my webserver, and have tried all ways to log on with and without a proxy.

What error are you getting? Please provide more details.

the 4 point error message that either the extensions are not installed (they are), the server is busy, the proxy is misconfigured etc.... Talked with my isp (cox) and they report no problems. I can upload with ftp without a problem.

Stop uploading via FTP, as that can corrupt the extensions and make them
inaccessible by FP. Have the host re-install the extensions, then DO NOT
used FTP.

Being able to upload via FTP has no bearing on whether or not you can
publish via FP's http mode.

thanks

I have deactivated the extensions on the host . . and reactivated them. . . . still no go! I will try again. Should I delete all web files on the host and try to publish de novo?
