publishing to Word

I created a report in Access, this report included an inserted "picture" that
was a bitmap file. Also I had highlighted and drew two color lines to box in
some text.

This all shows up beautifully in Access Report, and is printable, however..
when I 'publish to word' the inserted picture and the color highlight and
colored lines disappear.

The word document is a .rtf (rich text file) and I suspect the problem, but
I can't seem to figure out how to 'publish' to word in a different format so
that the picture etc. appear.

Is it possible?

Thanks,
JWB

Hi JWB - have you tried the Snapshot Format? I finally gave up trying to send
Access Reports in any format for Word, not because of graphics but the
margins. Each user had different settings and so they all displayed
differently. If your users don't need to alter the output in any way I highly
recommend it. Yrs - Dika

Dika, I am not sure what you are referring to when you say "snapshot format".

At this point I was hoping to send my Access Report to someone that was
going to imporove the look of the report, however this person is not familiar
with working with Access, so I need to get it to them in a format they can
edit. Word is the perfect choice, however I would like to try to send it
with the graphics I used in Access.

Thanks again. JWB

Update.... I just found 'snapshot format' and it is great, it keeps the
graphical formating, HOWEVER my end user will not be able to cut and paste or
modify this format.

So I am back to my original hopes of having Access publish the report WITH
graphics and not in a .rtf

I am hoping there is a setting in access I change and everything will be
perfect...

You know, like that 'easy' button on the tv commercial.

Thanks, JWB

Hi JWB - sorry, as far as I have been able to tell there are only the
following formats -
HTML (*.htm; *.html),
Text Files (*.txt),
Microsoft Active Server Pages (*.asp),
Microsoft Excel (*.xls),
Microsoft Excel 5-7 (*.xls),
Microsoft Excel 97-10 (*.xls),
Microsoft IIS (*.htx, *.idc),
Rich Text Format (*.rtf),
Data Access Page (*.htm; *.html) , or XML (*.xml) in the box.
Modules can be output only to MS-DOS text format. Data access pages can only
be output in HTML format. Only forms and reports can be output to data access
pages. Microsoft Internet Information Server and Microsoft Active Server
formats are available only for tables, queries, and forms. If you leave this
argument blank, Access prompts you for the output format.

and I did not find a one that did not have some drawback and lose something.
Except of course the one you can't use! Wish there were a 'easy' button.
Yours - Dika
