When I click "Publish to Web" in my FrontPage program, I don't know what info is being requested. I've previously uploaded my website by using my WS_FTP program, but don't know how to do from FrontPage. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks!

Does the remote server have the FP extensions?

The remote server probably does not have the extensions. I'm not really sure just what the "FP extensions" are. I'm pretty ignorant about this and really need a quick education. Your response is appreciated

you will be prompted for your user name and password for your host/ISP account
enter it then you're in (similar to with FPT programs, you have to log on to your
web space/account.

same idea with frontpage except you may put in the complete URL instead of a user
name, or the username might actually be the URL itself, or certain number of
characters, depends on how your host sets up your windows hosting account.

if the server does not have the server extensions your only other option is to
continue with ftp mode in frontpage, or even simpler, WS_FTP as you've been
doing - there's no harm in doing that (even if you have created the pages in
Frontpage) as long as your server doesn't have the server extensions running, and
you're not using any components that require the server extension.

The point of the publishing through frontpage is that it publishes the files it
needs to work with the frontpage server extensions (more involved than just
uploading text (html) files like in any other generic ftp program.
